Deep Fried Acrylic Paint Tempura, 2017

These artefacts are made from deep-frying various acrylic paints in sunflower oil at different temperatures. Some have UV pigment in them, and are photographed under UV light, others change colour and form when fried. Oddly some are extremely delicate and brittle, with sharp tendrils, and others are still soft and flexible, bubbled in form; yet still others become crystalline and rough.
